Jackson almost 3 years old came to us 11/21/09 His owners emailed us saying they could not afford to feed him any longer so they asked me to meet them near their home in Lexington...photos above were taken immediately after we arrived home. You can see the sad condition he is in, malnourished, dehydrated (his skin stayed up when pulled and look closely at his sunken eyes) and full of tape and whipworms what you couldnt see is how weak he was. Today just a few short days later he is looking much better, eyes are clear, bright and wide as he is no longer dehydrated, has his strength back, he has been wormed and is eating about 12 cups of Lamb and Rice seperated into 2 feedings. New photos will be posted in about another week. Please keep this sweet happy boy in your thoughts and prayers. Update 11/29/09 Jacksons stools are now completely firm & normal, no more watery poo 10 times a day, he is gaining weight and has soooo much personality, this guy is VOCAL when he is happy!! :O) 12/01/09 New PICTURES so you can see his progress... 12/19/09 Jackson has gone to his forever home with the Hargrove Family! Yeahhhhh Jackson we hope you enjoy whats in your Christmas stocking!!! 01/21/10 Jackson came for a visit and looks better than ever!!
Blue almost 4 years old came to us 10/18/09 A young man emailed me asking if I would like to use this dog for stud or have him for FREE...God bless him for keeping this dog from going to the pound when his military owner became ill and could no longer keep him but needless to say I went immediately and picked up this sweet intact blue boy, he was well cared for with all vacs UTD although he was thin he was in great shape and has a wonderful temperament. Blue was neutered on 11/06/09 and was able to go to his new home on 11/18/09. Blue has found his FOREVER HOME with Fareeza! CONGRATULATIONS BLUE AND FAREEZA!!!

About us... Jacqueline Lawrence & Brenda Campbell Brenda Campbell, my "Dane" partner had done rescue under the Great Dane Club of Kentuckiana name for nearly 10 years having placed over 280 danes! About 4 years ago Brenda took a 2 year break but continued to help through referrals, placing them into foster homes and assisting in finding their forever homes. From childhood I, Jackie, would bring home every stray I found, if injured I nursed them back to health then my parents helped me find them their forever homes. For the past 10 years I have on occasion rescued dogs, not only danes, and have truely enjoyed each one of them and found them wonderful loving homes. Brenda and I have decided to do rescue together although we can only do this on a small scale (just like our breeding program is) helping an innocent animal to live the life it deserves is an undescribable feeling. IMO every dog should live indoors as a member of the family and be treated as such, this innocent animal loves you unconditionally, each day you are their everything, they live to please you, they want only your love. PLEASE feel free to contact me in reference to a Dane in need or availability via e-mail (I check my e-mail frequently) jackieatbigpawzrescue@yahoo.com Click HERE to see Policies & Adoption application.
